SB3Hideaki

Hideaki Kobayakawa (小早川秀秋 - Kobayakawa Hideaki) is a character from the Sengoku BASARA series. He first appeared in Sengoku BASARA: Samurai Heroes.

Profile

In the games, Hideaki is portrayed as a coward and a glutton, and refers to himself as "The Gourmet General". Although eventually defecting to Ieyasu's side, Hideaki is usually aided by the mysterious monk Tenkai, who is always seen with him. During his boss battle, the player will face him in a fortress that surrounds a gigantic nabe pot. In Sengoku BASARA 4, before he can be reached, the player must ascend a long and winding staircase down which vegetables of tremendous sizes are hurled and must be avoided or slashed with the player's weapon.

Hideaki wears armor that makes him look like an oversized rhinoceros beetle, with his helmet representing the horn and the nabe pot he wears on his back representing the shell.

Abilities

Hideaki was a playable character first in Sengoku BASARA 3 Utage. He fights by comically flailing and spinning, using the saucepan he wears on his back. When blocking, he hides under the saucepan and is able to move around slowly. When standing, he can flip the saucepan over his head and strike enemies with it. Because of his panicky nature, he is somewhat hard to control in battle.

Hideaki's BASARA special move is summoning a gigantic saucepan from thin air, which spills out food from that damages the surrounding enemies.

Historical Information

Notes

  • Hideaki is voiced by Tom Oliver in Sengoku BASARA: Samurai Heroes and Sengoku BASARA: The Last Party and by Jun Fukuyama in Sengoku BASARA 4 and Sengoku BASARA: End of Judgement.
  • In history, he was the nephew of Hideyoshi Toyotomi and was known to cowardly attack women and children during his campaign.
