Haruo Murata (村田治生) is a member and planner at Capcom. He is best known for being involved in mainly the development of fighting games such as constructing the worlds of Street Fighter and Darkstalkers among others. He is often credited as Mucchi.[1]

History[]

Haruo Murata joined Capcom in 1990,[1] his first project was Super Street Fighter II, followed by Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter Alpha.[1] He also worked on Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, Capcom vs. SNK and Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness.[1]

Murata's duties usually was to do the planning, the on-screen icons, anything text-related, the UI (user interface) design and figure out how characters would fit into the world.[1]
