Handy Phone Melody Collection (着メロコレクション Chakumero Korekushon) is an arcade cabinet service provided by Capcom between 1999-2001 in several game centers in Japan. Originally it only offered downloadable ringtones for 200 yen each (reduced to 100 yen on March 12, 2001), which were received by connecting a phone to it and selecting one of the ringtones on a touchscreen, organized by different categories. The machine was updated monthly, later updates including additional services and support for more phone models.
Machi Chara Galleries[]
Machi Chara Galleries (マチキャラギャラリーズ) is a collection of phone wallpapers included in the arcade in 2000. Each wallpaper had the same cost as the ringtones. The wallpapers were available in black and white, grayscale, and color versions for use in different phone models. Some of them featured Capcom franchises like Darkstalkers, Mega Man, Onimusha, Resident Evil, and Street Fighter.
Nettō Quiz Gakuen[]
Nettō Quiz Gakuen (熱闘クイズ学園 Nettō Kuizu Gakuen, lit. "Fierce Quiz Academy") is a network-based quiz game that was included in 2001. Each try costed 100 yen. Players register in the game by entering an email address and answered 10 random questions within the time limit, each entry being elegible to win weekly prizes. The highest scores were displayed on a ranking screen.
